Mylopotas beach

Mylopotas Beach is the most popular beach on Ios, and one of the best in the Greek Islands. It regularly features in polls as one of the “Top 10 Beaches in Europe”.

Mylopotas is a Blue Flag beach which is more than 1km long and very wide, with beautiful golden sand and crystal clear clean water. Mylopotas is in the shape of a horseshoe bay with rocks at either end of the beach.

It is situated about 2km south of the main village in Ios.

Port – Yalos beach

The Harbour or Gialos by the locals is one of the safest and most sheltered harbors of the Aegean. As the ship arrives in Ios, the first thing one observes is the picturesque church of St. Irene, built from the 17th century.Due to the geography of the harbor, the island held several sailing competitions.

The blonde sand and crystal waters offer moments of relaxation. Next to Gialos is the beach of Koumbara which are very popular for its natural beauty.Walking around the Port you will find many shops where you can buy gifts and souvenirs.

Manganari beach

In the south part of the island and 23 km away from the center is located the Manganari’s beach. In fact, this enchanting bay is divided into five consequent beaches and gulfs with shallow, cristalline emerald waters. This place is ideal for swimming and sunbathing.

In additional, it provides watersports facilities for endless hours of fun.Along the beach there are taverns, where you can taste fresh fish and local dishes. We have to mention that in Manganari was shot the movie “Deep Blue”.

Kalamos beach

During your stay at Ios don’t miss to visit the byzantine monastery of Saint Ioannis near the beach of Kalamos.

More unique locations

Koubara Beach, Agia Theodoti, Tripiti, Papa are also unique bays that you can visit during your stay to Ios.
